Flowchart

Forgot to post this the other week, but I recently made a flowchart showing the different stages for the IR-1/CR-1 process: USCIS, NVC, Medical/Interview/POE.

Here it is (click to enlarge):

You can also find it on Google Docs, here. If you want to print it out or something ;)

Also, thanks for all the votes in my previous post! There's a definite winner. If you haven't voted, please do so! I greatly appreciate it! :)

  1. Hi Saylin, your posts on Visa Journey has been very helpful in my own process of obtaining CR-1 Visa. Thank you. I have a question; how long was the whole interview process in Montreal? I have a newborn baby and trying to figure out if I'm going to take him with me or not. Also, do you know if interview can be moved ahead? I just received an email today for 9/17 but was hoping for earlier dates. Thanks!

  2. Hi!

Glad I was of some help to you!

To answer how long it took: I was inside from about 7:30am to around 9:00am (if I remember correctly). I would have been out sooner, but I had to re-do my fingerprints (they weren't showing up correctly), so that was an additional 20 minutes or so. But, to get out so fast, you need to be at the consulate really early and be one of the first in line. I was there around 6:15am and was first in line. If you arrive after the doors open (around 7:30am), then expect to be in the consulate for a few hours.

If you're not happy with the date, you can try re-scheduling for an earlier one, if it's available. Sign into the CSC site and check for yourself.
